Commencal Warranty Terms & Conditions

At Ride Forge Co., we only work with brands we trust. COMMENCAL frames and RIDE ALPHA components are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, and we’re here to help you access that support when you need it.

This page is a summary of the COMMENCAL warranty as it applies to the bikes and frames we sell. The full, legally binding terms are always published on the official COMMENCAL website and take precedence over anything written here.

HOW TO START A WARRANTY REQUEST

Step 1 – Contact Ride Forge Co. or COMMENCAL

If you believe you have a warranty issue with a COMMENCAL bike or RIDE ALPHA component purchased through Ride Forge Co., please contact us first so we can help you confirm the issue and gather the right information:

– Proof of purchase (order number or invoice)
– One or more photos of the complete bike
– Clear photos of the issue
– Photo of the frame serial number (under the bottom bracket)
– For shipping damage on a new bike: photos of the box, the shipping label and the production label on the box

You can also submit a claim directly through COMMENCAL using their official warranty form . We are happy to act as an intermediary if you’d rather work through us.

SUMMARY OF COMMENCAL WARRANTY PERIODS

Frames & Components

For purchases from 1 October 2024 onward, COMMENCAL indicates the following general coverage for manufacturing and material defects (timeframes are for the original owner and are subject to the official COMMENCAL terms):

– Complete bikes (frames and parts): typically covered for 2 years
– COMMENCAL and RIDE ALPHA components: typically covered for 2 years
– Paint and graphics / finishes: generally covered for around 6 months against manufacturing defects

Some frames sold prior to that date may have different coverage periods. In particular, certain platforms (such as earlier SUPREME, ABSOLUT, CLASH, META, T.E.M.P.O. and META POWER models) were historically advertised with longer frame warranty durations. If you’re unsure which policy applies to your bike, contact us with your serial number and proof of purchase, and we’ll help you confirm it with COMMENCAL.

Lifetime Warranty Platforms (Frame Only)

Current generations of the following platforms are advertised by COMMENCAL as having lifetime warranty on the frame for the original owner, subject to their published terms:

– META HT V3
– META POWER SX 400
– META POWER SX 800
– META POWER SX DJI
– T.E.M.P.O. POWER

On these full-suspension bikes, COMMENCAL typically treats the front and rear triangles and the suspension linkage as lifetime-covered frame components, while wear items such as bearings and hardware have shorter, specific warranty periods. Exact details are always determined by COMMENCAL’s current written policy.

CONDITIONS & TYPICAL EXCLUSIONS

Who Is Covered

In line with COMMENCAL’s policy, warranty coverage generally applies:

– To bikes purchased from an authorised dealer or the official COMMENCAL website
– To the original owner only (warranty is not transferable after resale)
– When the bike has been used within its intended discipline and maintained correctly

Normal Use vs. Misuse

The expected lifespan of any bike depends on how often and how hard it is ridden, and how well it is maintained. COMMENCAL’s warranty is designed to cover genuine manufacturing or material defects – it is not an all-risk insurance policy.

Typical situations that are not covered include, for example:

– Crash damage, impacts, or deformation from excessive loads
– Use outside the recommended category (e.g. freeride / bike-park use on a frame not intended for it)
– Use of incompatible components or modifications that change the bike’s geometry or intended function (e.g. over-length forks, non-approved shock sizes)
– Neglect, poor maintenance or continuing to ride the bike while it is damaged
– Damage related to external events such as fire, flooding, or other natural events

NORMAL WEAR & TEAR

Many parts on a performance mountain bike are considered wear items and are expected to need replacement over time. These are normally not treated as warranty issues unless COMMENCAL (or the relevant component brand) determines there is a genuine defect.

Typical wear-and-tear items include, but are not limited to:

– Drivetrain parts (chain, cassette, chainrings)
– Brake pads and rotors
– Tyres
– Grips, cables and housings
– Bearings and bushings
– Freehub bodies and small hardware
– Cosmetic paint chips, scuffs and minor graphic damage from normal riding

If you’re unsure whether an issue is normal wear or a potential defect, reach out to us or submit the COMMENCAL warranty form and we’ll help you through the evaluation.

THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS

Many parts on your bike (suspension, drivetrain, brakes, wheels, motor, battery, etc.) are produced by third-party brands. These components are covered by the individual manufacturer’s warranty, not by Ride Forge Co.

Each brand sets its own terms and usually handles warranty claims through its dealer network. In practice, we will help you contact the appropriate technical service and submit the claim on your behalf whenever possible.

CRASH / ACCIDENT REPLACEMENT

Damage from crashes or other incidents is usually outside normal warranty coverage. COMMENCAL operates its own crash-replacement style program (often referred to as RIDE AGAIN) that may offer discounted replacement frames or parts for qualifying cases, subject to availability and their current terms.

If you’ve had an accident and your frame or key components are damaged, contact us with photos and your proof of purchase. We will work with COMMENCAL to see what options are available.

OUR ROLE & LIMITATIONS

Ride Forge Co. does not create or extend any manufacturer warranty. We help you:

– Understand what coverage may apply to your bike
– Collect the required information and photos
– Submit and follow up on claims with COMMENCAL or the relevant component brand

Final approval of any warranty or crash-replacement request rests solely with the manufacturer. Any liability limits, exclusions or conditions are defined by their official terms and by applicable local law.

For full details of the COMMENCAL warranty, always refer to their current documentation and warranty pages. If anything on this page conflicts with the manufacturer’s published terms, the manufacturer’s terms will apply.

SAFETY & RIDING RECOMMENDATIONS

Mountain biking and e-MTB riding involve inherent risks. We strongly recommend choosing a bike and build that match your riding level and terrain, wearing appropriate protection (helmet at minimum, plus additional protection where your discipline calls for it), and maintaining your bike regularly.

If you have questions about which model best suits your riding or how to keep your bike in top condition, our team is available to help before and after your purchase.

Ride safe, have fun, and enjoy the trails.
